Yep! That's right I'm doing an Iron Man Triathlon!!! Well... over the course of 28 days anyway. :-)
The local Triathlon club is sponsoring it, you have to run 26.2 miles, bike 112 miles, and swim 2.4 miles between 02/17 and 3/17.
I've already started the Couch to 5K running program, so I've been jog/walking for a few weeks now. And I will be counting my jog/walking as running, otherwise, I'm not sure I could actually run that far in that time period.
I'm guessing that the hardest part for me will be the bicycling. I don't actually own a bicycle, so I have to go to gym. And its still pretty hard for me to bicycle for really long periods of time with my problematic knees. But I think its a good goal for me!
I'll let you know how it goes. I think eventually I would like to do a triathlon, but I've always been afraid of the running part. I've been doing ok, with the Couch to 5k plan, so now I'm a little more comfortable doing it. Holy Moly I'm going to be busy!!
